Miles Pitt
Production Designer - Art Director
-

Beginning a creative career studying Fine Arts and Classical drawing  in Sydney it was from an early age of life spent drawing a career in the arts and design was inevitable. Freelance illustration and a growing passion for furniture design led me to antique restoration developing cabinetry and finishing skills. During this time I had the opportunity to work in the art department on TVC's which inspired me to choose a career in Film.

Many roads to choose a path to becoming a

Designer but the less glamorous department was Construction where I began building sets and props for Belvoir St theatre. From here film took over with Matrix sequels, Narnia and Star Wars which had my hands returning to furniture and cabinetry.

Throughout this time I also began assisting and buying in the art department on TVC's and short films.

Other creative pursuits over the years ventured into fashion founding Cast Eyewear which although a

commercial endeavour is run more like an art project with conceptually driven collections featuring in the

worlds leading fashion press, Highlights including

mentions in Italian Vogue 'Designers to watch' and counting the likes of Lady Gaga and Rhianna and various other music industry talents as devotees of our designs. www.casteyewear.com

Alongside the last 15 years of Art Direction for TVC's  a return to feature films has included  Lucky Country, directed by Kriv Stenders. A thriller set in 1905 in the South Australian gold fields. Having spent time on set of some incredible period productions like the Deadwood series. It was an incredible opportunity to bring our colonial history back to life.

Recent drama project highlights include Alyssa

McClellands short film 'Second Best' which won the Dendy prize for best short at Sydney Film Festival.

An across the board experience in all areas of the art department, from concept design and drafting on large scale set constructions, model making, special

effects to the intimate character driven details of set dressing bring my passion for screen design into a very practical skill set.
